Karyn has over 30 years of experience working in nonprofit and for-profit enterprises, both within the US and internationally. Prior to joining MCA she was CEO of the Bay Area Discovery Museum (BADM), where she led the organization through a period of transformative growth, which included expanding programming nationally and concluded with a $20mm capital campaign. Other previous experience includes investment management as a Vice President in Goldman Sachs’s Private Wealth Management Group.
She has extensive non-profit board experience and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the International Spy Museum and the Bright Day Foundation Advisory Board and is a member of the Spirit Rock Meditation Center Development Committee. In addition, she has served on the boards of community organizations including the Bay Area Discovery Museum, The Financial Women’s Association, Heyday Books, the Mountain Play Association, Marin Advocates for Children, and the Bacich Elementary Site Council.
Karyn received her undergraduate degree in History and Anthropology from the University of California, Santa Barbara and an MBA from London Business School. She has also been recognized as one of the Most Influential Women in Bay Area Business by the San Francisco Business Times.
Karyn is a volunteer mentor for veterans through American Corporate Partners and is the founder of Holos, a newsletter for women in midlife focusing on health & wellness, longevity and purposeful living. She is married, has 3 children, and enjoys biking, cross country skiing, paddle boarding, reading, and cooking in her spare time.
