Kate has over 20 years of experience successfully preparing strategic plans and operations analyses, working with industry service organizations and foundations, supporting project and operational planning efforts for major arts facility projects, conducting community cultural planning and developing public policy, and performing industry and consumer research. Kate founded Create Today, a certified Minority/Woman-owned Business Enterprise, in 2017. Client work includes a cultural facilities master plan for Salt Lake County, Utah; a feasibility study for a new arts and cultural facility in Millcreek, Utah, a program evaluation of the Yale/Goldman Sachs Partnership on Nonprofit Ventures; a master planning study for a new Museum / School concept in Port Chester, New York; a strategic planning project for an arts-based research center at a Rutgers University in New Jersey; and serving as the Interim Director of Grant Programs at an arts council.
Kate is an adjunct lecturer in the arts management program at Purchase College, State University of New York and has served as an advisory panelist with the New York State Council on the Arts.
Prior to founding Create Today, Kate was a management consultant at AMS Planning and Research Corp. for over 11 years. Kate also has experience working in the field, from the six years she worked at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. As Registration Manager for the entire range of educational events, her responsibilities included all aspects of running a box office for a major presenting organization: marketing, sales, show settlements, customer service, front-of-house responsibilities, and oversight of the safety and welfare of hundreds of thousands of children, chaperones, and teachers annually.
In addition to her professional work, Kate serves on the Executive Committee of the local PTA and as the budget liaison for the PTA Council and the School Board.
Kate has a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Bryn Mawr College and a Master of Business Administration from the Yale School of Management.
